Silversea Cruises

Silversea Cruises is a relatively young cruise ship company as compared to their bigger, older competitors. Founded in 1994, this private company has its headquarters based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Monaco. Depending on the time of the year that you wish to spend a long or short vacation in, there are several destinations that you can visit including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and Singapore.

The Silversea Cruises company is owned by the Lefebvre family of Rome, Italy. When the company was just starting out in the business, a lot of their direct competitors were doubtful as to whether Silversea Cruises can survive in the industry which was already dominated by the bigwig cruise companies.

Much to everyone's surprise, however, the first ship of Silversea Cruises called Silver Cloud was immediately followed by the sailing of the second ship called Silver Wind. What made Silversea Cruises stand out from the rest of the pack is that they are the first one to offer Personalized Voyages.

For this, passengers can actually choose their own embarkation and disembarkation points – so that a personalized journey can easily be created. As long as you are sailing for five straight nights, you can stay on board for days before or after a cruise begins.

Experience Life Onboard Silversea Cruises

So what are the things that you should look forward to when booking a vacation package with Silversea Cruises? First, here is the fleet of ships that they have:

1. Silver Cloud
This is the first-ever Silversea Cruises ship launched in the market when the company was first starting out. It can carry up to 296 guests and offers all the luxury travel amenities that you might need.

2. Silver Wind
This is the follow-up to the Silver Cloud ship which can also accommodate 296 guests.

3. Silver Shadow
Carrying 382 passengers, the Silver Shadow is marketed as having the luxuries of a private yacht, the amenities of a country club and the fine services of an exclusive hotel.

4. Silver Whisper
The Silver Whisper can also accommodate up to 382 guests, with ocean-view suites as accommodations.

5. Silver Spirit
First sailing the seas in December 2009, the Silver Spirit is the largest among the fleet that Silversea Cruises has. It can carry up to 540 guests and provides passengers with the ultimate in luxury cruise indulgence.

6. Prince Albert II
Boarding the Prince Albert II which can only accommodate 132 guests is a truly unforgettable experience. What makes this ship distinctive is the ice-strengthened hull, which allows it to serve as a purpose-built expedition ship.

All in all, the fleet of Silversea Cruises ships are designed to be your home while sailing amidst the oceans of the world. While it defines the ultimate in sailing luxury, each ship is small enough to be docked in destinations which larger cruise ships cannot cruise by – making each trip more exciting.
